DRAFT PLAN:
Pakistan Coalition
for Education (PCE) has conducted several meeting across
Pakistan with various organizations to design a campaign
around Global action week 2008. The draft plan of
activities is stated below:
Politician Go back
to School:
PCE planned to send
politicians Back to School so they can learn
about the education crisis, status of education in that
particular district/school. Halfway to the 2015 of EFA
targets, PCE wants to pressurize politicians, key policy
makers and other relevant stake holders about the need
for an urgent action to improve the status of education
in the country.
As there is new
government after election 2008, PCE consider it to be a
right time to involve all relevant politicians/persons
to get there words/pledges at district , province and
federal level for the quality education and improvement
on the status of EFA commitments related to each of 6
goals .
PCE is also
involving those children in the campaign who are not in
mainstream education, and do advocacy for having a
comprehensive policy to include them in mainstream.
Politicians
Back to School: It’s time to learn!
This activity will
be held in around 40 district of Pakistan by inviting
politicians to visit schools and/or local groups
· Produce
messages on education for all and send them to a
politician
· Send
awareness raising material like posters to all the
politicians.

Invite
politicians
to dialogue with parent and children who are excluded
·
Invite
them to the talk shows on radio and TV channels
·
As the
elections in Pakistan has been held in February 2008 and
new parliament has taken oath. PCE is planning to
organize a dialogue by inviting key policy makers
like Federal Finance minister or Secretary Finance to
meet the children
who are of out mainstream education and discuss them
about the policies to raise the status of education in
Pakistan
Gathering case studies and stories
PCE is gathering
case studies and stories of people/ children who are

Children having good learning environment
·
Children having poor learning environments and their
challenges
·
Parents/guardians of these children
·
60
year olds who were born in 1948 (the year of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights) and
a) had an
opportunity to be educated and the merits
(b) had no
education and the demerits.
·
Local
celebrities or community leaders on their experiences
· Religious
leaders who can talk about education in their
congregations
·
Involve women’s groups working in the communities
Use of media to
highlight the issue
PCE is planning to
highlight the issues related to excluded children in
media through press conferences, talk shows on TV and
radio programs. PCE is also inviting media for the event
coverage in all district related to GAW
Public
dialogues/seminars / walks/ rallies:
PCE is organizing
seminars at district, provincial and national level by
inviting key stake holders, political figures, elected
representatives of provincial and national assembly and
senate, to get he pledges for improving the quality of
education and access to all children include those who
are excluded from main stream
