Pakistan Coalition
of Education (PCE)
was established in 2005 by a group of like-minded civil
society members committed to the improvement of quality
education in Pakistan .PCE works towards realization of
its vision to ensure free quality education for all,
irrespective of gender, religion and class differences,
that promotes peace, tolerance, democracy and justice
and safeguards diversity.
PCE acts collectively
to influence policies and practices through
research-based advocacy and mobilization.
The secretariat of
PCE is housed in Strengthening Participatory
Organization (SPO), a rights based support
organization working nationwide with community
institutions, public interest organizations and civil
society networks through its seventeen offices.

JOB TITLE: Research and
Advocacy Coordinator (02 positions)
REPORTING LINES: National Coordinator -
Pakistan Coalition for Education
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
As a member of
the PCE Team, the incumbent would report to, and be
responsible to support the coalition work in
conceptualizing, developing, executing and reviewing
advocacy campaigns and update of strategy,
approaches, operational plan and budget.
-
Engage and lobby
with policy makers, legislators etc
-
Design and
develop campaign communications tools and visibility
material (audio-visual, print, etc.)
-
Lead in
facilitating development of monitoring strategy and
methodology (process, tools, etc.) to gauge the
impact of PCE work at district , provincial and
national level (quantitative and qualitative), and
building capacity of members and campaign staff in
conducting monitoring and documenting to track
change/impact
-
Support National
coordinator and other PCE team members in
developing well articulated and evidence-based
position of difference aspects/issues related with
EDUCATION through a systematic strategy and plan
which may also include commissioning and/or
undertaking research and writing briefing papers
-
Developing
campaign strategy and effectively delivering the
strategy
-
Generating
progress and monitoring reports to guide the
National Coordinator for necessary action and help
in decision making
-
Develop capacity
development strategy and plan for PCE team as well
as for PCE members at all levels.
-
Work closely with
PCE team to ensure effective synergies for
achieving greater impact
-
Work closely with
PCE members for effective achievement of common and
shared objectives
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
-
Three years
experience working in development sector preferably
in campaigning and advocacy at practice and policy
level
-
Master’s degree,
in Social Sciences
-
Strong writing
and articulation skills in English and Urdu
Strong analytical skills
-
Good computer
skills esp. Microsoft word , excel and power point
Sound understanding of campaign messaging and
developing public positioning on strategic issues of
education (research, consultations, evidence from
grassroots programming, etc.)

Excellent
presentation, articulation and communication skills.

Ability to work
under pressure, prioritize and use independent
judgment with clear parameters to meet deadlines.

High level of

JOB TITLE:
Project Assistant
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in
developing implementation plans in consultation with
the PCE core team members for executing the PCE
initiatives.

Develop close

members to keep the coalition effective and alive at
provincial and district level through
correspondence, mailing lists ,

SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:

One year experience working in development sector
preferably in campaigning and advocacy at practice

JOB TITLE:
Finance Officer
Reporting to the PCE
National Coordinator, S/he will be responsible for
providing support in maintaining and reporting PCE’s
Accounts in accordance with the compliance mechanisms.
S/he will be responsible for preparation of final
accounts for annual audits. Other responsibilities
include: handling of bank accounts, record keeping,
payroll processing, taxation matters and donor
reporting.
The prerequisites are
CMA, ACCA or equivalent with at least three years of
experience in accounting and financial management in a
nonprofit sector. Working knowledge of accounting
software, financial reporting and strong communication
skills are essential for this job.
JOB TITLE:
Administrator Officer
Reporting to the PCE National Coordinator, S/he will
support in various administrative functions including
vehicle, inventory, procurement and general services
administration. Other responsibilities include the
upkeep of office building, management of residential
facility within office premises, logistical support in
events and maintaining staff attendance and leave
records.
The prerequisites are a Master’s degree with at least
two years of relevant experience of general
administration in a non profit environment.
JOB TITLE:
Front Desk Assistant
Reporting to the Administration Officer, s/he will
operate the telephone exchange, keep track of the
incoming and outgoing calls, manage the mail system and
handle the reception.
The prerequisites are a Bachelors Degree, strong
interpersonal skills, language proficiency both in
English and Urdu, computer literacy.
